Many in the audience had wondered if they would get the opportunity to see Queen and Steele perform there hit single New World(Remix), and for all in attendance that special highlight came when Ifrica invited the Canadian reggae sensation to join her on stage. Together they belted the lyrics of their MOBS/Flames produced single. This was the first time they had performed the song together and the energy from both artists was tremendous. New World (Remix) clearly represents one of Steele’s most popular songs in Jamaica, with his reproduction of Bob Marley’s Slave Driver just as potent. New World has enjoyed good rotation from both radio and television, with the music video reaching the number 4 spot on the RETV charts. Steele says, “receiving the phone call from Queen was a true blessing. So often combination recordings are done, but due to artist scheduling they never get the opportunity to perform the song. Queen is a true sista and that’s why the world embraces her the way they do. She, Tony Rebel, Briggie and the rest of the Flames family have shown me nothing but love from the start, and that is why my label MOBS Production and myself are always ready to embrace them”. Steele plans to be back in Jamaica soon to shoot the music video for his latest recording Keep Holding On, produced by the Kataly’s Crew. For all info on Steele please visit www.myspace.com/steelemusic or www.steelemusic.net. Another standout performance on the mother’s day concert was delivered by songstress Etana. The anticipation grew for her first solo performance in Toronto and for sure she did not disappoint. With a vocal range that surpasses just one genre of music, Etana made her mark with the Toronto audience with songs like Roots, Money and Wrong Address, and for sure it won’t be long before this sista will be back in Canada. ROCKS CAPACITY CROWD AT SYDNEY’S An intermission then followed and popular radio personalities Delroy Sterling, Luther Brown and King David of CHRY105.5 fm all had there various task. Dj Delroy Sterling and selecta Padi of Roots Love Sound kept the audience bouncing by spinning the jams, while Luther Brown and King David conducted giveaways courtesy of West Indian Fine Foods, Western Union, and Kaladel Design. The intermission ended and one of Canada’s most popular comedians Naggo Morris took twenty five minutes to demonstrate why he is now a house hold name. Supported by an additional cast of three, the laughter inside Sydney’s became deffenining; this was an obvious sign that everyone was having a great time. When 11.00pm came around Sydney’s was filled to legal capacity, and unfortunately, representatives from MOBS Production had to apologize to many who could not gain entry to the venue. At 11.15pm with instructions from mc’s Luther Brown and King David the band dived into a familiar intro and the man of Steele emerged from somewhere within the audience to rousing applause and screams from his adoring fans. Steele wasted little time in stamping his authority, and everyone knew they were in for a treat. Hit after hit filled the room, Steele could do no wrong, songs such as Love TKO, Silhouette, Confession, Slave Driver, Shining Star, and the ever popular Another Confrontation had everyone singing and dancing. Other songs such as The Love of Jah and Spirit of the Rastaman created a sense of spirituality within all attending. Steele then went back in time when he delivered the Berres Hammond favorite One Dance. This was when he invited seasoned songstress Ola Jade to join him on stage. Sydney’s went wild when both artists tried to convince the audience “who run tings in a relationship the man or the woman” Jade belted the very popular Once Dance Just Won’t Do, while Steele tried to prove his point by engaging her in a rub a dub session. In the end all agreed both parties are equally important in the relationship. Steele however later found himself in more trouble when one of his female fans who he had invited to join him on stage, found it very hard to leave, but with a hug that lasted for some time she finally decided it was time to go. After a set that lasted almost two hours, Steele left the stage with the audience chanting the words to Jah Is My Strength, all agreed Steele live in concert was an outright hit. On behalf of Steele and MOBS Production we wish to thank the fans and the media for there continued love and support. Also, much love to Kaladel Design for Steele’s smashing outfit. One love Mobs Due to the overwhelming response to MOBS Production offer of Steele’s “Breakfast in Bed”, MOBS with the request from Steele have decided to extend the free offer time period. Steele has added his touch to the song made popular by artist such as Lorna Bennett and UB40 and is currently offering a free download of his version. Based on his hit streak with songs such as “Another Confrontation”, and “New World Remix” with Queen Ifrica, Steele’s Breakfast in Bed is sure to follow that momentum. Currently you can download your free copy from Steele’s page at www.myspace.com/steelemusic and this will be in effect until May 19th 2008. Should you encounter any problems with downloading, please send your request to mobsproduction@rogers.com and the song will be sent to you via mp3 format. When contacted, Steele said he wanted to do this to continue sharing the love and support he’s been receiving from his fans. As usual, he expresses the fact that without them there would be no Steele. Also, make sure to look out for Steele’s “Keep Holding On” on the Summer Breeze Riddim produced by The Kataly’s Crew, and “In Love Again” which is the follow-up to “Another Confrontation” on the Chi Chi Bud Riddim produced by Lloyd Campbell of the Joe Fraser label. Final arrangements are being made for the release of these compilations which will also include other heavy hitters from the reggae fraternity. Coming soon.
